Vault This vs calculator vault apps.
Calculator vault apps hide your photos behind a fake calculator. A disguise helps, but it isn't the same as encryption.
| Feature | Many calculator vaults | Vault This |
|---|---|---|
| Says plainly how files are encrypted | ||
| Files encrypted with keys in secure hardware | ||
| Hidden vaults nobody can count | ||
| A duress pattern that destroys the others | ||
| No ads or trackers | ||
| Encrypted backups you can check |
The problem with disguise alone
Anyone who knows the app, or searches the phone properly, will see past the icon. What matters then is whether the files are actually encrypted, and many calculator apps don't say how, or show ads that need trackers.
What Vault This does
The Calculator disguise is a real calculator: your code, then =, reaches the pattern screen. Behind it are proper encryption, hidden vaults and a duress vault, so the disguise is an extra, not the only lock.
