Where Secure Folder is good
It's built into Samsung phones, can hold whole apps as well as files, and can have its own lock.
Where it falls short
It's Samsung only, so it doesn't come with you to another brand of phone. There's one folder, so anyone who gets it opened sees everything.
What Vault This adds
It works on any Android phone and moves with you using encrypted backups and recovery words. Hidden vaults, a duress vault, password and card records, document scanning and private sharing.
