Forced to open it? Give them this one.
Set one vault as your duress vault. Opening it looks completely normal, and at the same moment every other vault on the phone is destroyed. Pro
- Opens like any other vault
- Other vaults destroyed in milliseconds
- Even earlier copies of the phone can't be opened
- A fingerprint never opens the duress vault

What happens when it opens
The other vaults' keys are wiped from the phone's secure hardware first. That takes milliseconds and can't be undone: without those keys, their files can never be decrypted again, even from a copy of the phone taken earlier. Then their files are deleted. Nothing on screen shows it happened.
Where Vault This is different
Deleting files is not enough on its own: a copy of the phone made before could still hold them. Vault This destroys the keys in the phone's secure chip, so those copies become useless too.
Before you set one up
A destroyed vault can only come back from a backup together with its recovery words. Keep backups of anything you can't afford to lose, and keep your duress vault full of believable, ordinary things.
Questions
Can I use my fingerprint for the duress vault?
No, on purpose. A fingerprint never opens the duress vault, so it can't be triggered by accident.
Is the duress vault free?
It's part of Pro, along with unlimited items, disguises, sync and sharing.
